Verify and publish a custom domain

Verification confirms that DNS points to Stovefront. Publishing is a separate action that makes the storefront available at that hostname.

Verify DNS

  1. Confirm every record shown in Admin → Website → Domain was added at the DNS provider.
  2. Select Check DNS and verify.
  3. If the status remains Waiting for DNS, wait and try again. DNS updates can take a few minutes or several hours.
  4. Continue only after the status changes to Connected.

Publish the storefront

Domain verification does not publish the site. Select Publish site from the admin header after the domain is connected.

If a connected domain displays Storefront unavailable, the storefront is usually still Draft or Paused.

Test the customer experience

Open the exact connected hostname in a private browser window and check:

  • the home page;
  • the weekly menu;
  • cart and checkout;
  • pickup and delivery details;
  • contact links;
  • HTTPS and the browser security indicator.

If the connected address is a root domain, test www separately. Stovefront automatically configures it as a secure redirect to the root, but its displayed CNAME record must also be present in DNS. Ordering subdomains remain separate.
