Add a photo to a dish or menu item
Use a well-lit image that shows the actual portion customers will receive. Avoid text-heavy graphics and images containing personal information.
Open the dish or menu item editor, choose Add photo, and upload the image. If photo enhancement is available for your plan, Stovefront follows the default selected under Website → Design → Homepage → AI photo preferences:
- Ask me each time shows an Enhance with 1 credit button after upload.
- Automatically enhance starts enhancement automatically with the selected default style.
- Keep original photos (no AI) keeps the uploaded image as-is.
Enhancement uses one image credit when processing begins. The original upload remains attached if enhancement fails. Save the item, then review the image in the storefront on both desktop and mobile widths.
You can submit up to 5 image-generation or enhancement requests during a 10-minute request window. This short-term request limit is separate from your monthly image allowance. When many kitchens are creating images at once, Stovefront may place an accepted request in a backlog. You can keep working or leave the page; the finished image remains tied to the dish or menu item where you requested it and appears there automatically when ready.
