Choose a pickup time
Some kitchens ask you to pick a pickup time up front, before or while you fill your cart. You choose from the times that kitchen offers — you are not naming your own.
Not every kitchen does this
This is new, and kitchens turn it on one at a time. If you do not see a list of pickup times on a storefront, that kitchen has not switched to it: order the way you always have, and the kitchen will confirm pickup details with you the usual way.
Picking your time
Times are listed by date. Each one tells you three things:
- When — the hours you can come and collect, in the kitchen's local time.
- Where — the name and address of the place you are collecting from.
- Order by — the deadline for that particular pickup. Each pickup time has its own; a Friday collection can close days before a Saturday one.
Pick one, and keep shopping.
Until you pick one, the menu header says so: it asks you to choose a pickup time instead of naming a date, and the order deadline reads Depends on your pickup time. Nothing on the page commits you to a day you have not chosen.
It stays in view
Once you have chosen, a line stays on screen showing what you picked — pickup, the date, the hours, and the place — with a Change button next to it. It is there while you browse and again at checkout, so you can see it before you submit and change it any time until you do.
The menu header follows the same choice: it shows the date you picked, the hours, the pickup spot, and that pickup's own Order by deadline — the same one the list showed. If your time later closes or is withdrawn, the header goes back to asking you to choose rather than leaving an out-of-date promise on screen.
If the menu you are looking at cannot take an order — an older week, a menu that has not opened yet, or one whose dishes have all closed — the header says that first and does not invite you to order. Your pickup time is still yours; it is the menu, not your choice, that is unavailable.
When some items do not fit
Kitchens can offer a dish at some pickup times and not others. If something in your cart is not available for the time you are looking at, you will see a plain note saying how many items that affects, before you commit to it.
If you have already chosen a time and something in your cart cannot be collected then, you get a message naming exactly which items, and two ways forward:
- Pick a different time — one that works for everything in your cart.
- Remove these items — drop just those items and keep the rest.
Nothing is removed from your cart unless you press that button yourself.
When a time closes, fills up, or goes away
Pickup times are first come, first served, and kitchens do change their schedules. If the one you chose closes at its deadline, fills up, or is no longer offered, you will be told which of those happened and offered a new time to pick from.
Your cart is kept. You are choosing a new pickup time, not starting your order over.
If you leave a storefront and come back later, the same check runs again — so if your pickup time expired while you were away, you will find out then rather than at checkout.
Before you submit
Check the date, the hours, and the address one last time on the confirmation page, and save your order code. The kitchen has the same details you do.
