Set up scheduled pickup
Scheduled pickup is available to every kitchen. You can set the whole thing up and see exactly what customers would get before anything changes: your kitchen keeps taking orders the way it does today until you turn it on, and you can switch back at any time.
The panel tells you whether the schedule is ready. The Allowed to turn on check confirms the feature is available, while the remaining checks identify any pickup time, pickup spot, or package configuration that needs attention. You can turn scheduled pickup on when every check reads Ready.
With scheduled pickup, a customer picks one of your pickup times during checkout and their order arrives with that time already attached — no back-and-forth messages afterwards.
Open Operations → Schedule → Pickup & schedule. Scheduled pickup is at the top of that page.
Start from what you already have
If you have never opened this before, select Set up scheduled pickup. Stovefront copies the pickup details you already use — your pickup spot and your usual pickup days and hours — and tells you what it brought over. Nothing is published by this step; it only fills in the sections below so you have less to type.
1. Check your pickup spots
A pickup spot is a place customers come to collect an order. Most kitchens only need one.
For each one, set:
- Pickup spot name — what a customer will recognize, such as "Front porch".
- Address — the address they should drive or walk to.
- Notes for customers — parking, which door, whether to ring the bell.
Use Add another pickup spot for a second location, and Remove to retire one you no longer use. Removing asks you to confirm first.
2. Add your pickup times
A pickup time is a repeating span of hours customers can choose from. Select Add a pickup time and fill in:
- Pickup days — tick every day this time repeats on.
- Start time and End time — the hours you hand food over, on your kitchen's own clock.
- When do orders close? — either a deadline before pickup day (for example, 1 day before at 6:00 PM) or a minimum notice period (for example, 24 hours). The line underneath shows the sentence customers will read.
- Order limit (optional) — the most orders you will take for one of these times. Leave it blank for no limit.
- Pickup spot — shown only if you have more than one.
Save it and the time appears in the list, written the way customers will see it — for example, "Pickup Fridays, 4:00–6:00 PM at Front porch". Use Edit to change one and Remove to retire it.
Pickup is always free in this preview; there is no fee to set on a pickup time.
3. Add days off and special hours
Open Days off & special hours and choose the pickup time it affects. Pick a date and leave Closed all day ticked to take that date off entirely, or untick it and enter special start and end times to run different hours that day only.
Customers cannot choose a date you have closed, and they see the special hours for a date you have changed.
4. Review, then turn it on
The Review and turn on section shows two things:
- What customers will see — each pickup time exactly as it will appear to them, with when orders close and the order limit.
- Before you turn it on — a short checklist. Anything marked Needs attention explains what to fix, such as a pickup time pointing at a pickup spot you removed, or a meal package whose dishes have no pickup time in common.
When every item reads Ready, select Turn on scheduled pickup and confirm.
If Allowed to turn on reads Needs attention, it explains why in its own words — the button stays off until that changes, and everything you have set up is saved and waiting for you in the meantime.
Where your simple pickup settings go
While scheduled pickup is on, the older Pickup location, Add Delivery and Pickup schedule editors are not what customers see, so they are folded into one section further down the same page: Simple pickup & delivery settings (used only if you switch back). Select it to open them; everything inside still works and still saves exactly as it did.
Two things worth knowing while that section is open:
- Those settings take effect only after you choose Switch back to simple pickup.
- Save settings at the top of the page saves only those simple pickup and delivery fields. Your pickup spots, pickup times and days off save themselves as you edit them — there is nothing extra to press for scheduled pickup.
Switching back
Once scheduled pickup is on, the same section shows Switch back to simple pickup. Confirm it and your kitchen returns to the way it worked before, immediately — including the simple pickup and delivery editors, which move back out onto the page where they were.
Switching back keeps everything you set up here — your pickup spots, pickup times, and days off — so you can turn it on again later without redoing the work. Orders customers have already placed are not changed.
