How payment works on Stovefront

Each kitchen configures the payment methods shown after you place an order. They appear on your confirmation and again on your order status page, which you can open from the View order status link in your confirmation email if you want to pay later.

If the kitchen has connected Stripe, select Pay securely to enter your card details on Stripe Checkout. The payment goes directly to the kitchen's Stripe account. Stovefront does not receive or hold the food-payment funds.

The kitchen may also offer direct payment options such as Cash App, Venmo, or Zelle. These are seller-provided payment instructions, not connected Stovefront accounts. Some kitchens reveal a private email, phone number, or official QR code only after you place an order.

Before sending a direct payment, check the recipient name in your payment app against the name shown by the kitchen. Follow the displayed instructions and keep your confirmation or receipt. Select I've sent it only after sending the correct amount; the kitchen still needs to verify that payment.

After Stripe returns you to the storefront, payment confirmation can take a few seconds. Do not pay a second time while the order says Stripe is confirming the payment.

If payment is unclear, contact the kitchen using the contact details on its storefront before paying again.

If the kitchen issues a Stripe refund, My orders shows whether it is processing, partial, or complete. The refund returns to the original payment method; the bank or card provider decides when the credit appears. Refunds for Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, PayPal, or cash are arranged directly with the kitchen.

If a card payment does not confirm, appears twice, or a refund has not arrived, contact the kitchen with your order code before attempting another payment. A pending bank authorization is not always a second completed charge.
