Add choices, limits, and ordering details
Open a dish or menu item editor, then expand More product details. Everything in this section is optional and appears only when you fill it in.
Explain what the customer receives
Use Package size, What's included, Contains allergens, May contain / shared kitchen, Storage instructions, Preparation or reheating, and Shelf life for details customers need before ordering.
Keep allergen text specific and consistent with your actual kitchen practices. These fields help communicate information; they do not replace the labeling or food-safety rules that apply to your business.
Set quantity rules
- Minimum quantity is the smallest number a customer can add.
- Maximum per customer caps how many one customer can order.
- Order increments controls the allowed step. For example, an increment of 2 allows 2, 4, 6, and so on.
These rules work with Quantity available. A customer cannot order past the remaining inventory even when a larger maximum is entered.
Ask for a special request
Enter a Special-request prompt only when you can act on the answer, such as "Name for the cake" or "Preferred spice level." Leave it blank to turn special requests off for that item.
Do not ask customers to enter payment card details, medical records, passwords, or other sensitive information.
Add customer choices
- Select Add customer choices.
- Give the group a clear name, such as Milk choice or Size.
- Turn on Required when every customer must choose.
- Turn on Allow multiple when customers may select more than one option. Set the minimum and maximum selections.
- Add each option, enter any extra price, and leave Available on while it can be ordered.
Use separate groups for separate decisions. For example, use one required Size group and one optional Add-ons group. The storefront validates required choices and adds price adjustments to the item total.
Save the dish or menu item, then open the public storefront and test the choices before publishing.
