Take a break with vacation mode

Vacation mode puts a notice on your storefront and, if you want, stops new orders.

Steps

  1. Open Operations → Schedule → Vacation.
  2. Switch on vacation mode. The toggle then reads Vacation notice is on.
  3. Set a Return date — optional, but customers plan around it, so give one if you can.
  4. Choose Customer ordering: whether people can still order for after you return.
  5. Write a Message to customers, up to 500 characters.
  6. Save.

The ordering choice is the important one

Ordering off — the storefront refuses new orders. Anyone trying sees: "This kitchen is on vacation and is not accepting orders. It plans to return [your date]."

Ordering on — customers can keep ordering for weeks after you are back. Good for a short break where you want to return to a full order book.

If you choose ordering on, make sure the weeks people can order into actually have a menu. An open storefront with nothing to sell is worse than a closed one.

Orders already placed are unaffected

Vacation mode does not cancel anything. Any order already in your queue still needs fulfilling. Check your list before you leave.

Write a real message

The default is fine but generic. Better:

Closed August 4–18 for family time. Back cooking Tuesday the 19th, with orders open for that week from the 15th. Thank you for the patience!

That answers when you are back, what happens next, and when to check again.

Coming back

Open Operations → Schedule → Vacation and switch it off. The notice disappears and ordering returns to normal immediately.
